Tim Wright Fine Violins: Our Ethos
As musicians, we understand the process of finding the perfect instrument. We believe that visiting a violin dealer should be a relaxed affair. We are a friendly family business and we don’t push for custom: if the instrument is perfect for you then you won’t need any further persuasion.
Tim is a former professional violinist who understands what musicians need. His playing background allows him to write instrument descriptions which offer a clear picture of the instrument before trying it yourself: we are very proud that our customers always comment on how accurate these turn out to be.
Helen is also a musician and really enjoys the opportunity to get to know people and guide them through the journey of finding their perfect instrument or bow.
Fair pricing and affordable finance options
Across all the price brackets, our policy is to seek out instruments which offer the best sound available. We achieve this by stocking a wider range of instruments than many shops, looking to less-well known makers and schools where the prices have yet to rise.
We also offer a range of contemporary instruments because we believe that a well-chosen new instrument can outplay almost everything older in its price bracket. We are very proud of the range of violins, violas and cellos we have for sale and take great pleasure in helping you to find your perfect match whatever your budget.
We understand that buying an instrument is a significant investment and that our clients need to have every confidence in its resale value. Our commitment to correct attribution and our understanding of the market trends mean that you’ll never pay over the odds.
We offer a range of flexible finance options including part exchange and payment by instalments to ensure that once you’ve found your perfect match you are able to take it home.
Reliable attributions and total transparency
Whilst we’re confident that our instruments sound fantastic, we know that customers often have other considerations too. Finding the perfect instrument is challenging enough without having to worry about whether the price is fair, the attribution correct or the condition report complete.
We want to take away these concerns, leaving you to focus on what really matters: sounding your best. We are proud of the level of research we undertake on each instrument and really enjoy the chance to discuss our research with clients!
To provide peace of mind, our top instruments come with independent certification from the leading authority on the maker or school. A number of our instruments are also offered with dendrochronology reports from world-renowned expert Peter Ratcliff.
We also offer exhaustive condition reports which will always give an honest account of the instrument and we are happy for you to have the condition independently verified.
