Selling Your Instrument

We are extremely proud of our wide range of carefully-chosen instruments and are always looking to buy violins, violas, cellos and bows.

If you are considering selling your instrument or bow, the first thing that we would do is to provide you with a valuation. We will then discuss with you whether it would be more appropriate for us to buy the instrument directly from you, or to sell it on your behalf. There may also be times where we recommend another avenue for sale, such as a trusted auction house or another violin shop.

It may be that your instrument would benefit from some attention from a luthier prior to sale: if this is the case we will discuss your options with you. This usually includes making recommendations as to what work needs to be done to bring the instrument up to a saleable standard, an idea of how much this might cost in relation to the value of the instrument, and our suggestions for excellent independent luthiers.
