About Colin Cross
Colin Cross graduated from the Newark School of Violin Making with Distinction in 1989. He is highly respected for his extensive experience in restoration and repair work and his instruments enjoy an excellent reputation among professional players.
Having run shops in both Buxton and Deal, Colin has recently moved to Scotland. We are delighted that he has joined us north of the border!
About the violin
The violin is modelled after the instruments of Guarneri 'del Gesù' and was made in Scotland in 2024.
The violin has a one piece back of quarter-sawn maple with ribs and scroll to match. The front is two pieces of characterful spruce and the varnish is a rich reddish-brown.
The violin has a length of back of 356 mm.
How does it sound?
This is a truly fantastic violin to play! It is a real musical partner, giving the player the sense that it has its own thoughts on how things should go. This kind of instrument is a great pleasure to get to know and makes practice much more fun...
Condition
The violin is in original mint condition.
Certification
The violin comes with the maker's certificate of authenticity.
