About Linus Andersson
Linus is a Swedish/ German violin maker based in Glasgow. He studied at the Newark School of Violin Making, graduating with distinction. Following a period spent in the workshops of several important European makers, Linus now has his own workshop in Glasgow, producing excellent instruments which are popular amongst professional players.
About the violin
This violin was made in Angers in 2018 and is modelled after Stradivari.
The violin has a two piece back of book-matched maple with ribs and scroll to match. The front is two pieces of medium-grained spruce. The varnish is a brilliant amber colour, laid over a lighter golden ground.
The violin has a length of back of 354mm.
How does it sound?
This is a full, bold violin which has swagger and panache! It's extremely responsive and able to change character on demand. Overall, a very exciting violin to play.
Condition
The violin is in original mint condition and bears its original label.
