About Linus Andersson
Linus is a Swedish/ German violin maker based in Glasgow. He studied at the Newark School of Violin Making, graduating with distinction. Following a period spent in the workshops of several important European makers, Linus now has his own workshop in Glasgow, producing excellent instruments which are popular amongst professional players.
About the violin
The violin was made in Glasgow in 2023 and is modelled after the instruments of Stradivari.
The violin has a one piece back of attractively flamed maple with ribs and scroll to match. The front is two pieces of medium-grained spruce and the varnish is golden-amber in colour.
The violin has a length of back of 354 mm.
How does it sound?
This is a very precise instrument which has a lovely nutty lower register. The upper register has vast reserves of power, giving the sense that there's always more in the tank!
Condition
The violin is in original mint condition.
