About Paris Andrew
Paris Andrew was born in Yorkshire and attended the violin making school at Merton College before further study with both Francesco Algieri and Fabio Chiari in Florence. Paris now runs her own busy workshop in the city, combining new making and restoration with her teaching at the Scuola di Liuteria Toscana 'Fernando Ferroni'.
Paris works tirelessly to support other female luthiers, inspiring many to join the profession through her teaching and her work with the group Women in Lutherie.
About the violin
This violin was made in Paris' Florence workshop in 2024 and is inspired by the Venetian maker Santo Serafin with lots of her own inspiration too.
The violin has a one piece back of slab cut maple with ribs and scroll to match. The front is two pieces of fine-grained spruce and the varnish is a shaded golden amber.
The violin has a length of back of 356 mm.
How does it sound?
The violin has a big, juicy sound with loads of character. It's great fun to play!
Condition
The violin is in original mint condition.
