About this violin
This violin was made in Edinburgh in 2013. It is modelled after the instruments of Stradivari.
The violin has a two piece back of figured maple. The ribs are of similar wood and the head is more plain. The front is two pieces of very narrow-grained spruce and the varnish is amber in colour, laid over a lighter golden ground.
The violin has a length of back of 355 mm.
How does it sound?
The word I keep coming back to for this violin is sumptuous. It has the most creamy, velvety tone, even on the E string. Though it can be pushed hard and responds well under such playing, it is the instrument's ability to round the rough edges and turn things classy that makes it really exciting to play. A thoroughly sumptuous instrument!
Condition
The violin is in excellent original condition.
