About Theo Parmakis

Theo Parmakis is a Sheffield based luthier who trained at the Newark School of Violin Making, graduating in 2020. He has a busy workshop in the city, combining new making with restoration.

About the cello

This cello was made in Sheffield in 2020 and is modelled after the 1777 'Simpson' Guadagnini.

The cello has a two piece back of quarter sawn maple with ribs and scroll to match. The front is two pieces of medium-grained spruce and the varnish is golden-amber in colour.

The cello has a length of back of 715 mm.

How does it sound?

This cello has a complex, intimate character and is capable of a great deal of tonal variation. It has a fairly strong personality and definitely gives the player some feedback!

The cello is in original mint condition.
